It must be alarming to experience headaches almost every day. The constant throbbing and pain in the head might indicate that you’re suffering from serious conditions such as a blood clot in the brain or brain tumor. While this can be true, what you primarily need to know is that there is also a condition called Chronic Daily Headache and it does occur to a number of people.
Chronic Daily Headache is a type of headache with a duration of four hours or less. It can be classified further into four: chronic migraine, chronic tension-type headache, new daily persistent headache, and hemicrania continua. Each one except hemicrania continua arises from pre-existing conditions such as migraine, tension headache, and headache – it’s basically the same conditions, save for the fact that they occur more frequently. If you’re suffering from any of these conditions for more than 15 days for three months, it is best to consult with your healthcare provider at the soonest time possible for proper diagnosis.
According to experts, getting an MRI (magnetic resonance imaging) is oftentimes the most effective way to diagnose the disorder as this procedure successfully tracks potential underlying conditions that could go beyond a simple chronic daily headache.
If you’ve been suffering from headache attacks for over three months now, schedule an appointment with your doctor ASAP. Don’t take these attacks for granted, as an undiagnosed condition is definitely going to affect your health.
