We all get stressed out every once in a while, and for all we know, stress is the major culprit of the throbbing pain in our temples. This throbbing pain in the temple is called tension headache.
Although doctors themselves could not explain how this phenomenon happens, they say that when we are stressed, our body’s natural response is to clench our teeth. This can then cause strain to the muscle connecting the jaw to the temples and eventually trigger a tension headache.
However, you don’t need to worry now that there’s a simple trick (or should I say, a bizarre relief) that you can do to alleviate your tension headache without even taking medications. The so-called pencil technique works by putting a pencil between your teeth without biting it. This simple method causes your jaw muscles to relax and eases the tension, which consequently eradicates your headache.
A simple method for relieving headaches such as the pencil technique helps sufferers find comfort, especially to those who often feel stressed out. It is important to note, however, that this technique only works for tension headaches.
