It is widely known that migraines affect millions of Americans today. While it sounds like a common disorder, it shouldn’t be taken lightly by sufferers — especially if they’re women.
In a study conducted in 2008, experts learned that migraine frequency can be used as an indicator of underlying cardiovascular problems among women. Though they weren’t able to determine exactly how migraine attacks connect to cardiovascular diseases, results of the study showed that women with high migraine frequency are more susceptible to strokes, while those with low migraine frequency are more likely to suffer from heart attacks.
Either way, migraine occurrences shouldn’t be overlooked no matter how brief the attacks may be. If you’re suffering from any of this, be sure to consult with your healthcare provider as soon as possible so you can get ample treatment.
