Headaches can be triggered by a lot of different things, but among the most common is stress. By taking time to relax your body, stress can be eased away and consequently lessen the intensity of your headache. One way to relax your body is by the doing the ancient spiritual practice called meditation.
Studies suggest that mind and body techniques such as meditation can be effective in relieving headaches, reducing migraine frequency, enhancing pain tolerance, and improving the overall quality of life and sense of well-being.
Meditation aims to focus on attention and awareness. While doing this, you ignore inner and outer distractions and concentrate on calmness, relaxation, and balance. Through meditation, the mind stays focused in the present moment. A session of meditation may last for a few minutes up to a few hours.
