While eating is important to remain healthy, some people ignore this fact and prefer to skip meals in order to slim down. Unfortunately, not eating will not immediately reduce your weight on the weighing scale, but could almost instantaneously upset your stomach and cause headaches.
Hunger can cause the muscles in your head to tighten which could trigger your debilitating headaches. Aside from headaches, eating unhealthy food, overindulgence, and not eating can cause malnutrition. Not eating can also cause hypoglycemia or that unwanted sensation when you feel faint when you have low blood sugar.
If you’re trying to lose weight by not eating properly, or if you have deviated from your eating habits, you may incur more headache episodes than the norm. The best thing to do is to eat a healthy meal, or to cut back calories by doing it gradually. Instead of letting yourself starve, eat small meals throughout the day to keep hunger in check while not eating too much during lunch or dinner. Remember, if you keep yourself healthy, there’s a lesser chance of incurring ailments like headaches.
