Biofeedback Therapy: Control Your Headache

When you’ve tried everything to get rid of your headache but it keeps on coming back, it might time for you to consider an alternative medicine technique: biofeedback.

Biofeedback is often used as a relaxation technique. However, numerous people have used it to control several bodily processes that were thought of before as involuntary, such as your heart rate and the tension of the muscles. To put it simply, biofeedback enables you to control your body’s processes using your mind.

This technique is performed by connecting you to electrical sensors that helps you receive and measure information (feedback) from your body (bio). The electrodes, together with a biofeedback therapist, could help you make subtle changes to lead you to the results you want, such as reducing pain.

Given that biofeedback is painless and a non-drug therapy, a lot of people say that it is effective for a range of health issues, especially headaches. If you are interested in trying out this treatment, it is best to consult with your physician first to determine if you would benefit from this therapy.
